Children’s Ministry spent Sabbath School time assembling “Birthday Boxes” for children in the Family Promise program. These children and their families are working toward stable living and have few resources to devote to non-essentials, such as birthday parties. Our kids bought birthday cake mixes, icing, and sprinkles to donate. Each box contained small gifts for the birthday child and party supplies. We then delivered the boxes to the Family Promise of Greater Chattanooga center to be gifted to a child on his or her birthday.
