Here at The Well we talk a lot about practicing compassion. It’s part of our mission statement and comes directly from the Biblical call to serve others as Christ did during his time on Earth. We each can do this individually in our daily lives, but one way we have chosen to live out this mission as a group is to support the non-profit, Family Promise of Greater Chattanooga, by being a host church several times a year. If you’re not familiar with the program, we set up our classrooms as temporary hotel rooms for homeless families enrolled in the Family Promise program. We provide breakfast and then ask volunteers to provide supper, games for the kids, and overnight hosting.

For privacy reasons we do not post pictures of the families that stayed at The Well, but it was another successful hosting week and we are so appreciative of anyone who volunteered their time.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
